Privacy policy

Nascast shows the same market reading to everyone. It does not need to know who you are to do that, so it does not ask, and it has no account system.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, date of birth or location. There is no sign-up and no login. We do not collect your contacts, photos, files, calendar, microphone or camera. We do not track you across other apps or websites, we do not build an advertising profile, and we do not sell or rent information about you to anyone. The app contains no third-party advertising or analytics software.
What stays on your device
The app saves a small amount of information in its own private storage on your phone: the most recent reading, so the screen and the home-screen widget can show something immediately while a fresh one loads, and your app settings. This never leaves your device, is not readable by other apps, and is deleted when you uninstall Nascast.
What happens when the app connects
Each time you open the app, and when the home-screen widget refreshes, it downloads a small data file containing the current reading. That request is made to GitHub, which hosts the file. As with any request to any website, GitHub receives the technical details needed to deliver a response, including your device's IP address, and handles them under its own privacy policy. The request contains no identifier for you, no account and no device fingerprint from us. We do not receive or store these requests, and we cannot tell who opened the app or when.
This website
This site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and has no tracking pixels or social media widgets. Loading the home page fetches the same public data file described above, from GitHub, on the same terms. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which may include IP addresses, for security and diagnostics.
Payments
If you take out a paid subscription, the purchase is processed entirely by Google Play. Your payment details are entered into Google's systems, not ours. We never see or store your card number, billing address or any part of your payment method. Google tells the app only whether an active entitlement exists. Billing, renewals, cancellations and refunds are governed by Google Play's terms.
If you email us
Emailing support means we hold your message and your email address, which we use only to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list. Ask us to delete the correspondence and we will.
Children
Nascast is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, this is a statement of intent rather than a filter we apply.
Your rights
Privacy laws including the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights over personal information held about you: to see it, correct it, delete it, and to object to its sale. We hold no personal information about app users, so in practice there is nothing for us to produce, correct or erase, and there is nothing to sell. If you have contacted us by email and want that removed, write to privacy@nascast.com.
Changes
If Nascast ever starts collecting something it does not collect today, this page will be updated before that change ships, and the date at the top will change with it.
